    Onkyo TX-SR313 Features

    Onkyo TX-SR313

The Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver has such a wide range of features that it is hard to believe it is an entry level receiver. To quote Onkyo ads, “the only thing entry level about this receiver is its price.”

The 4 HDMI (Pass-Through Enabled) inputs and 1 output allow you to connect your 3D capable TV to your game console and your Blu-ray player as well as your Cable or Satellite box and DVR Player.

The Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver also allows you to connect your USB memory stick with MP3s, iPod, iPhone as well as, apparently, AppleTV. I do not have AppleTV so I can’t verify, however I use my WDTV Live connected to the DVR HDMI port.

The multitudes of codecs makes this Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver hard to beat. It has: Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS ES/HD, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II/IIx, Dolby Digital EX/Plus.

    Onkyo TX-SR313 Connections

The back panel of the Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver comes loaded with connections. It has 4/1 (in/out) HDMI, 2/1 Component, 5/2 composite audio/video, 2 co-axial (S/PDIF) Digital and 1 Optical (Toslink) inputs, and I can’t leave out the AM and FM antenna jacks as well as the RI Remote Control jack. The connections for the speakers are not skimpy either, with a set for the 5.1ch 2 front, 2 surround 1 center and 1 subwoofer pre out jack, plus a separate 2ch Front B speakers. The front panel has a ¼” Headphone jack, 1 auxiliary audio/video jack and 1 USB port.

    Onkyo TX-SR313 Remote Control

    Onkyo TX-SR313 Remote

The remote control that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver is a full function remote, however it would seem it does not work with other manufacturers even though they have a list of other manufacturers on the remote control code list. There was no way to know this before buying it, so if adding one more remote to your collection is a deal breaker then the Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver is something you would think twice about getting. I, on the other hand, have to live with it so I’m happy with it. I may start looking for a universal remote that includes my Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver as a control code to enter. If anyone knows of a solution for me, such as a specific universal remote that does not cost as much as my receiver, I would definitely appreciate it.

I would also like to here from others who may have bought or thinking about buying the Onkyo TX-SR313 Home Theatre Receiver.

    Thanks for reading.

    Steve
